Skip & Lou Gates

Skip Gates, since retiring from the United States Air Force after 26 years, has called in 16 states and one foreign country. He is an accredited member of CALLERLAB since 1976, a member of the Oklahoma Callers and Teachers Association, Texas Callers Association, as well as the East Texas Callers Association as past president and currently it’s Treasurer.

Skip has held all elected offices in the Louisiana State Square Dance Association as well as appointed offices. He held the office of president on two different occasions and vice president of the Northwest Louisiana Square and Round Dance Association and their caller coordinator for number of years.

Also, he has been the caller coordinator for the Oklahoma Square Dance Federation, Louisiana State Square Dance Association, and the Arkansas State Square Dance Convention.

Skip & Lou were the Assistant Directors at the Community House in Red River, NM from 1996 thru 2001.

Currently Skip is the Caller for the Southern Circle of Ardmore, Hereford Whirlers of Ada, and Paul’s Valley Stars all in the Southern District. Skip & Lou have five children, with six grand children and one great grand daughter.
